Flexible Payment Options

We understand the need to balance academic ambitions with professional and personal commitments. Our payment options allow you to spread the cost into manageable instalments. This approach gives you the freedom to invest in your future and achieve your potential.

1. Securing Your Place

To confirm your enrolment, an upfront deposit of £500 is required before the start of your course.

2. Monthly Instalments

The remainder of your tuition fees for the academic year will be split into nine equal monthly instalments.

  • Payment Due Date: Payments are due on the 1st of each month.
  • Platform Access: To ensure uninterrupted access to your course, please make your payment on time. If an instalment has not been received by the 7th of the month, your access to the edX platform will be temporarily paused. Access will be reinstated once the outstanding payment is made.

3. Discounts & Adjustments

  • Bursaries: Any discounts or bursaries you’ve been awarded will be spread evenly across the full two-year period, reducing the amount of each monthly payment.
  • Termly Review: At the end of each term, we will process any necessary financial adjustments, such as for credit notes or early leavers, in line with our standard approach.

Funding and financial support options

When evaluating how to pay for a postgraduate course leading to a masters degree, students often explore a number of different resources. Below, we’ve outlined some financing options for which you may be eligible to apply.

  • A postgraduate masters loan can help UK residents with course fees and living costs while you study a postgraduate-taught course.

This loan is non-means tested, which means the amount you can request is not dependent on your or your family’s income. Your loan can be used towards the cost of your course fees and living expenses.

For full details and recently awarded loan amounts, visit the UK Government website.

  • Many employers offer benefits such as tuition fee reimbursement and low-cost loans. Check with your manager or human resources team regarding financial assistance for educational programmes.

  • For additional financial assistance, research other education loan lenders to determine if a private loan is best for your situation.

If you are a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen, you do not qualify for federal student aid or military education benefits for the University of Surrey’s online courses due to the online format.
