Funding and financial support options
When evaluating how to pay for a postgraduate course leading to a masters degree, students often explore a number of different resources. Below, we’ve outlined some financing options for which you may be eligible to apply.
Postgraduate masters loans (UK residents)
A postgraduate masters loan can help UK residents with course fees and living costs while you study a postgraduate taught course. As of August 2023, you can receive up to £12,167.
This loan is non-means tested, which means the amount you can request is not dependent on your or your family’s income. Your loan can be used towards the cost of your course fees and living expenses.
For full details, visit the UK Government website.
Employer sponsorship
Many employers offer benefits such as tuition fee reimbursement and low-cost loans. Check with your manager or human resources team regarding financial assistance for educational programmes.
Private education loans
For additional financial assistance, research other education loan lenders to determine if a private loan is best for your situation.
If you are a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen, you do not qualify for federal student aid or military education benefits for the University of Surrey’s online courses due to the online format.
